News 12 New Jersey is a 24-hour regional NewsChannel reaching more than 1.8 million TV homes within the NYC metropolitan area. The channel operates as an independent unit of News 12 Networks, referred to by it's corporate owners as the “1st, largest & most watched regional news network” in the US. The channel produces 8½ hours of live original news programming daily, alternating with digital replays. The channel launched in March 1996.

News 12 New Jersey can be seen in more than 1.8 million cable households throughout 14 counties in northern & central New Jersey: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union, Warren & Ocean. News 12 New Jersey's main studio, newsroom & sales offices are located inside the Raritan Center business complex in Edison. The channel has remote newsrooms in Trenton, Newark, Madison, Oakland & Wall. The channel's reporters can be live virtually anywhere statewide with 2 satellite newsgathering vehicles, 1 microwave truck & a helicopter, "Chopper 12."
